FlowDeck 1.0.0 is our biggest workspace upgrade yet. It brings your simulator, agent setup, and everyday project tools together in one place. This release requires FlowDeck CLI 1.3.0; highlights for both releases are included below.

FlowDeck for macOS 1.0.0

New

• A simulator workspace built into FlowDeck. Browse and manage every simulator in a dedicated window, open a live device beside the list, or stream it directly into your project. Drive the screen, take screenshots and recordings, and change location without leaving FlowDeck.

• Coding Standards, built in. After your first code-changing turn, FlowDeck offers a practical set of engineering rules that encourage tested changes, careful validation, and clearer handoffs. Choose exactly which standards to enable, then revisit them anytime in Settings.

• A completely new Skills Manager. Discover, organize, and provision agent skills from a polished new sidebar experience, so every project has the capabilities it needs.

• A sample project you can actually explore. New users can open a ready-made iOS weather app with realistic sessions, plans, diffs, and tests, then start working immediately.

• Agents that better validate their work: FlowDeck helps agents validate their work and generate more usable output. You can now configure the validation effort and details in settings.

• Cursor is back. Run Cursor sessions in FlowDeck with your existing subscription.

• Grok Build joins the agent lineup. Start Grok sessions alongside Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, and Cursor, with its models available directly in the picker.

Improvements

• Settings feels purpose-built. A calmer layout, clearer hierarchy, stronger contrast, and consistent cards make project preferences, agent defaults, packages, builds, and tools much easier to scan. Simulator runtimes now live where they belong under Settings › Tools.

• Managing a simulator fleet is dramatically faster. Multi-select lets you boot, shut down, or delete devices in batches; every row exposes the right actions; names can be changed in place; booted devices are instantly recognizable; and the live preview stays alongside the list while you work.

• The simulator control strip goes much further. Home, Lock, rotation, keyboard, appearance, language, location, screenshots, and recording are always close at hand. On supported Xcode 27 toolchains, FlowDeck also adds Reduce Motion, Reduce Transparency, button borders, VoiceOver, color filters, Liquid Glass appearance, audio routing, and volume controls.

• Simulator interaction is more natural and dependable. Clicks, typing, paste, and hardware buttons now travel through the best input path for the active toolchain, with more faithful keyboard behavior, visible press feedback, and no distracting touch cursor over the streamed screen.

• The right destination is easier to choose. Pick a simulator while creating a session, find devices grouped by platform throughout the app, and tell iPadOS from iOS at a glance. Custom locations now use address search and can be saved, managed, and reused from the simulator toolbar.

• Conversations keep up with the way you work. Send one queued follow-up or release the whole queue, see attached files before they are sent, and keep the active task in view as a longer plan progresses. Inline images render directly in the transcript, while galleries stay neatly separated from message attachments.

• Models and providers are simpler to manage. Collapse or search each provider, select a whole catalog at once, and refresh to discover newly installed models without relaunching. The model and effort you chose now carry into the session, and available effort levels always match the model actually running.

• The workspace is more polished from edge to edge. Project icons and clearer status symbols improve navigation; sidebar sections can be tailored per project; the diff viewer opens at a useful width over a richer backdrop; selections remain legible; and closing a session lands you somewhere predictable.

• Agent sessions are tougher under pressure. Failed sessions can resume automatically without falling into a restart loop, provider errors explain what happened, Cursor no longer gets stuck after an interruption, and OpenCode or ACP turns reliably finish without losing queued follow-ups.

• FlowDeck stays responsive on long days. Streaming output is smoother, background work quiets down when the app is inactive, hidden controls are recovered more reliably during UI automation, and removing a session safely reclaims its derived build data.

• Updates and activation take fewer detours. CLI updates run in the background and clear their banner when finished, while a purchase can return straight to FlowDeck and activate the license in one click.

New

• Simulator settings reach much deeper. Rename a simulator without changing its identity, then control Reduce Motion, Reduce Transparency, button borders, VoiceOver, color filters, Liquid Glass appearance, audio devices, and volume from the command line on supported Xcode 27 toolchains.

Improvements

• macOS automation stays in the background by default. Everyday clicks, typing, scrolling, and menu actions no longer pull focus from your current work, while the few actions that truly need the foreground say so clearly.

• Simulator input feels more like real hardware. FlowDeck chooses the best input transport for the active Xcode toolchain, improving typing, paste, clicks, and hardware-button events while preserving compatibility with older simulators.

• Simulator windows stay out of your way. Launching a streamed viewer no longer steals focus, controls hidden inside opaque containers remain reachable, and interrupted commands clean up their simulator work reliably.

• Test plans report the tests they actually run. Discovery now reads a plan's real test targets instead of treating every referenced target as executable, producing cleaner and more trustworthy results.

• Licensing has a clearer path forward. The retired in-CLI trial flow now sends you to current pricing and purchase information instead of presenting an outdated journey in the terminal.
